Love was in the air, even before a single regular-season fly ball, as one couple got engaged during a flight over SunTrust Park Tuesday night.
Nikki Hobus – a diehard Braves fan whose Twitter account is all about the team when they’re playing – and boyfriend Jeff Donahoo flew over the stadium in a private plane at dusk Tuesday evening, but Hobus had no idea what was in store. A scenic flight turned into something even more unforgettable when the couple flew over the stadium and saw the message on the JumboTron.
Donahoo proposed, and Hobus said yes.
“My fiancé reached out to the [Braves] Digital Media Team, and they set it up for us,” Hobus told MLB.com. “One of their team members was on the ground on the field taking pictures of the scoreboard while we were in the plane getting engaged.”
Congrats are in order for the happy couple, and because they are Braves fans, they couldn’t have timed the flight any better. While they were in the air, the Braves were getting waxed by the Miami Marlins 8-4, a loss that dropped Atlanta to 1-6 on the young season.Follow @Sean_Breslin
