One of Atlanta’s most unique eateries is about to close

A highly underrated piece of Atlanta dining is about to end its run, and you really should go before it’s gone for good.

Oddbird, the popup restaurant that serves hot, fried chicken at West Egg on the Westside, is about to end its semi-regular hours. Since April, Oddbird has been open for dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

This week will be their last, according to the eatery.

(Watch: Two British guys try Oddbird’s chicken and waffles)

If you haven’t been to Oddbird yet, I highly recommend it. Their chicken and waffles dish is the best I’ve ever had, and their chicken biscuits are ridiculous, too. It’s a very unique experience to sit on their patio, drink a beer and eat one of their breakfast-for-dinner dishes (or they also have chicken sandwiches).

After Saturday night, Oddbird won’t close for good, West Egg partner Jennifer Johnson told Eater Atlanta, but they’ll likely only pop up once a month or so.

In time, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Oddbird return in a permanent spot, but I also won’t count my chickens.
