SunTrust Park construction update: Feb. 8, Week 5

Guys, I messed up.

For the first three weeks, I took a photo from an area that wasn’t the best possible angle to get a time-lapse shot of the new SunTrust Park. As it turns out, you wouldn’t have gotten the full effect of the construction until the stadium was almost completely built.

So, I’m starting over from a much better angle.

The photo at the top of this page is the first weekly image from the new angle, and in the photo, you can see the skeleton of the left-field bleachers beginning to take shape.

Obviously, it’ll take a few weeks to put the image in motion again, so here’s a GIF to hold you over until then. Xan Gerson, a high school classmate of mine who works in a building adjacent to the new stadium, will be providing aerial photos of the construction while I post images from the ground.

Here’s the progress in construction over the last three weeks or so:

You can see the lot taking shape, as well as the skeleton of the left-field bleachers arriving at the bottom of the image.
