As I mentioned last week, I’m going to continue a weekly feature on Breslanta that tracks the construction of the Atlanta Braves’ new digs, SunTrust Park.
Since we’re now into Week 2 of this photo project, I can set the images in motion.
What you’ll see above in the animated GIF isn’t too compelling yet, but it won’t be long before the image shows a blossoming new stadium and FanPlex area. I’ll put the newest image on the end of the GIF and we’ll build it from there.
The photo without the sun glare is the first photo; the sun glare photo is from this week. I’ll work to time the photo a little better so it isn’t all sunny, but to be fair, we didn’t see much of the sun this week, so it caught me slightly off-guard.
I’m also going to do a monthly feature that shows the progress of the entire FanPlex from above. A high school classmate of mine, Xan Gerson, works in an office building adjacent to the construction site, so he will be taking the photos from that angle. Here’s his first photo:
Last week, the first pieces of the stadium’s skeleton were constructed, as Atlanta Braves photographer Pouya Dianat documented on his Instagram page:
It’s only a matter of time before this construction site becomes the new Field of Dreams for the Atlanta Braves and their fans.
