In other words, Paul Soliai is a full-grown man.
AtlantaFalcons.com lists Soliai at 6-foot-4, 345 pounds, and he’s the newest toy for the Falcons’ defense, which hopes to improve from last season’s ranking of 31st (out of 32 teams) against the run. Soliai, a Pro Bowler in 2011 with the Miami Dolphins, was signed Tuesday by the Falcons.
The Falcons have plenty of opponents in 2014 – like the Minnesota Vikings – that will present serious challenges in the running game. Fixing the broken run defense in the offseason was critical, and Falcons fans have to be pleased with the signings of Soliai and former Kansas City Chief Tyson Jackson, a defensive end.
Did I mention Soliai’s a big dude?
