After the holidays, it’s easy to settle in and spend cold weekend afternoons at home. But there’s a lot to do in Atlanta, so stay social and find something to get into this weekend!
In honor of the three-day holiday weekend, here are three fun events to consider on your days off.
Sunday: Antico Pizza is OPEN
For the first time ever, Antico Pizza on the Westside will be open on a Sunday, in honor of the Falcons playing for the NFC crown. Eater Atlanta reports Antico will be open from 11 a.m. on, and they will begin taking orders at 10:30 a.m. at 404-724-2333. I’m not sure there’s a better tailgate food in the city, either. I made my first trip to the establishment a couple of weeks ago, and I can attest that Antico is worth every bit of hype as word has spread around the city. If it’s not the best pizza Atlanta has to offer, it’s definitely in the conversation. Even if you don’t make it to Antico this weekend, put it on your bucket list to visit in the near future.
Sunday: Meehan’s celebrates championship weekend
Don’t have tickets to the Falcons game this weekend, but still want to be surrounded by a fun atmosphere during the big day? Head down to Meehan’s in Vinings for their “Damned Good Time” celebration, which kicks off at noon. Beer specials, barbecue and a chili cook-off between the restaurant’s chefs will be featured in the festivities, and as you might guess, the Falcons will be shown on all televisions.
Monday: Tour a brewery
Monday Night Brewing is about to open to the public on Jan. 28, but a limited number of people will be allowed to tour the Westside brewery before it officially opens. The first tours will be held on … surprise … Monday night, Jan. 21, but there will also be tours on Thursday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 26. Tickets for the tours are only $12, and they include four beer samples and a pint glass. Tickets are limited, however, so if you’re planning on checking out Monday Night Brewing, be sure to purchase your tickets ASAP.
